What is SmartPay?

If you would prefer to pay an even, set amount for your propane or fuel then the SmartPay Program is for you!

The SmartPay Program is comprised of 11 equal monthly payments (subject to periodic review and adjustment) based upon an estimate of your annual fuel consumption. The 12th month is a reconciliation month with any outstanding balance due in full. If your account reflects a credit balance, you can request for this credit to be applied to future budget balances or refunded to you directly.

What is included in SmartPay?

Only heating oil and/or propane required for heating purposes are eligible for the SmartPay Program. The plan does not include your propane or heating oil tank’s initial fill. It also does not lock the price charged for fuel during the term of the plan. The price per gallon is an estimated price per gallon and the delivery will actually occur at the prevailing rate. Any additional services are billed in addition to the monthly SmartPay amount.

Who is eligible for the SmartPay Program?

Customers who are purchasing heating oil and/or propane for heating purposes only, are eligible for the SmartPay program. In order to be eligible for the SmartPay program, the customer must have an approved credit check.

Will my propane or heating fuel be delivered automatically?

Yes, customers who are on the SmartPay Plan are required to have their accounts on auto-delivery for both propane and heating oil.

Is a payment due if there is a credit on my account?

Yes, the SmartPay payment plan divides your annual usage over 11 months. Throughout the year your balance will fluctuate depending on when charges are applied to your account. If you have an expired SmartPay Plan from a previous year that has a remaining credit, you can contact Valley Energy and request for this to be applied to your new SmartPay Budget Plan or request for the credit to be refunded.

Will my monthly payment change during the year?

Your monthly payments are based on an estimate of your annual fuel usage. Any changes in the monthly payment amount will be reflected in next month’s statement. Customers are encouraged to regularly monitor their balance and payments through the online portal or monthly statements.

Can I set up my SmartPay plan to be billed automatically?

Yes, the SmartPay payment plan can be automatically billed to a credit card or e-check. If your SmartPay payment is automatically billed, your non-SmartPay charges will not be automatically deducted.  If you would like to set up autopay or have any questions, do not hesitate to call us at (540)-338-6457 or email us at info@valleyenergy.org.
